Portfolio management

We follow how strategic and tactical asset allocation decisions are made, how rebalancing rules are set, and how diversification is used to manage exposure across cycles. Our notes cover both the theory and the everyday discipline behind it.

Investment fund advisory

We study how funds are structured, how mandates are written, and how independent oversight and reporting keep a fund accountable to the investors who rely on it.

Capital markets solutions

From primary issuance to secondary liquidity, we look at how companies and governments raise capital, and how market structure shapes the pricing and timing of those decisions.

Risk and governance

Much of what separates a resilient portfolio or fund from a fragile one comes down to governance: clear mandates, independent checks, and honest reporting when results fall short of expectations. We spend a good part of our research simply describing what strong governance looks like in practice, drawing on public frameworks and long-standing industry norms.

We also study risk measurement — volatility, drawdown, concentration, and liquidity risk — as a shared vocabulary that helps investors, advisors, and fund managers have the same conversation.

Research and client relations

Behind every note we publish is a small internal process: research, review, and rewriting until the language is plain enough to be useful. We think of this as an extension of client relations — the same care we would bring to a conversation with a client, applied to something anyone can read.

We also maintain informal contact with academic researchers and industry groups so that our perspective stays grounded in current thinking rather than folklore.
